The Looper. I found this interesting unknown yarn tool at Value Village recently for $1.99. It came with instructions for a number of stitches and patterns as well. Two loopers in different sizes were included. The set looked like it was from the 70s, and unused.
End Of World scenario, if you were stuck with only The Looper but had a knife and access to wood. Carve yourself a crochet hook. Way less frustrating than The Looper. I’m not sure why the inventor thought this would work, but you would have to have the patience of a few saints and have never even heard of a crochet hook to think this was a good idea.
It’s pretty much crocheting with your fingers, except you use The Looper to push the yarn into the loops rather than
your finger. Tension is pretty much impossible to keep. Try slipstitching with your fingers, now try cluster stitching. I gave up after the third cluster stitch. The yarn knotted, and it already looked like a hot mess.
The Looper. Nice try, but I’d rather learn to whittle.
