I got a custom order for a handflower, or slave bracelet, done in tones of rich brown. Mustn’t be sparkly, and with a hint of periwinkle. I may have over done the periwinkle.
For brown seed beads the selection is kinda limited. I have four shades – this chocolate brown, a brown/black, silverlined brown, and a transparent lighter brown. I used the chocolate brown and the silverlined brown in this piece. Paired with the periwinkle seed beads to bring out the design in the flowers. I found these really pretty glass beads at Michaels. They’re not cat’s eye, or a gemstone, but are very nice and smooth. I used a netting technique on the bracelet to make it look as though the different colours are braided together. This handflower was made with a smaller hand in mind, so it doesn’t model well on my hands.
